The Star Trek Sample Demo was one of the first demonstration programs of some capabilities of FutureOS. It was made to demonstrate:
- Loading speed from disc
 - Expansion RAM management
 - Digiblaster Sound Output

To run properly, it needs:
- FutureOS
 - 512 KB of expansion RAM
 - Digiblaster

The STSD loads a 416 KB sample file (22 seconds from disc, 5 seconds from HD20 hard-disc), then the sample is played at 14 MHz. The sample itself is 8 bit deep. It's release date was around 1992.
